Florida State University is a top 20 public univerisity in the unites states, it has a leading basketball score, and it is home to over 32,00 students (Patronis). It hard to imagne that life at Florida State could be any different, however it was. Life at "F.S.U." was then life at "F.S.C.F.W." or in translation: "Florida State College For Women." It was not until 1901 when Florida State College for Women became a liberal arts four year college offering for four majors: the College, the School for Teachers, the School of Music, and the College Academy ("History").

Although the dates of important events and saved and memorials are given to famous alumni, much of the everyday student life is left unquestioned. Fortunetly for historians and the seminole family, Elizabeth Byrd a female student at Florida State College for Women, documented her four years at the college in a scrapbook. This scrapbook provides first hand pictures, postcards, newspaper clippings, and more from the years 1922-1926.

In this exhibit you will find postcards sent to Byrd from her beloved friends and family. Aditionally, you will be able to gain a better sense of how student life really was with the exhibits inclusion of Elizabeth's newspaper clippings. These clippings, matched with other photos provides insight into old Florida State College for Women tradition: "Odds and Evens."
