ODDS ARE VICTORS IN THANKSGIVING BASKET BALL GAME
The Odd and Even teams, wearing their respective colors, entered the fray, each team determined to carry off he honors. The referee, Miss Isabel Randolph of Agues Scott, blew the whistle and the game began, McCormick got the tip off for the Evens ad the first goal was scored by Spencer of the Evens. Richards scored for the Odds and the conflict became more in earnest. At the end of he first quarter the score stood 8 to 6 in favor of he Odds. Soon after the second quarter winded and the Odds called time out. As soon as the game was continued McCord secured a one-point goal for the Evens bringing the score to seven for the Evens. At the end of the first half the score was 12 to 9 in favor of the Odds. The odds had the lead and didn’t intend to lose it. During the second half Richards continued to pile up scores for tthe odds and McCord for the Evens until for the pisttol was fired, which ended the struggle. The Odds were ahead with a score of the Evens.
Why Odds Won the Thanksgiving Game
The Odds won the Thanksgiving tgame in basket ball from a physiological, and not from a psychological standpoint. The Odds had members on ttheir team tthat were physically superior to the memebers of the Even tetam. The Odd guards were both taller and more muscular than the Even forwards; the Odd forwards out-matched outmatched the Even guards in physical build as much as Goliath did David; the Odd running center was superior to the Even running center in height, weight, and brawn in fact, the only two well-matched players on the court were the jumping centers. The odds did not win the game because they won Wednesday night for demonstration or because they found three pennies bearing the dates of Odd years respectively or because the Evens had the championship for five years or because they broke the floor out of the gym , or because that the fates had decreed that they should win, but they won that game nearly because they physically and not technically, out-matched the Evens.
