Page 135 from the scrapbook of Jewell Genevieve Cooper who attended the Florida State College for Women ca. 1924-1930. On the left hand side is a cut-out from a newspaper article titled, "Forecast of Sophomore Day". On the right hand side is a cut-out from a newspaper article titled, "Annual Sophomore Day Now in Full Swing". Included in the middle of the page, is a piece of Jewell Genevieve Cooper's actual Rat Cap, which is short for Recruit at Tech, and first year students are instructed to fill it out with their name, major, hometown, graduation date and the word “RAT” in all capital letters. There is also two pictures, with one showing four "Ye Lowly Rats", or first year students, and another one showing another group of four "Ye Mighty Sophs", or second year students. There are two cutouts from articles in which one of them is focused on the "Forecast of Sophomore Day". The second cut out is from an article titled "Annual Sophomore Day Now In Full Swing" in which the cutout is about the Sophomores practically reprimanding the "rats", or first year students, in a way by telling them everything they need to know and follow relating to this important day for both classes.
