When Mabel Lytle, President of the Athletic Association, took the platform last Wednesday morning at [the] Student Body meeting, a tense hush fell upon the student body. Mabel Lytting charge of the meeting could mean but one thing: announcing varsity.

Mabel began her talk by saying that here was a time when Odds bid goodbye to their Even friends but that now, all hostilities being over and both sides having behind them a record of a hard fought contest, fairly won and honorably lost, as the case may be, it is a time of rejoicing for the honors bestowed upon our worthy player. First she announced the winners of class numerals, calling them forward by classes to receive a gold number of a garnet background. They are as follows:

The meeting was then turned over to Myra Burr, Vice-President of the Athletic Association. Myra now became the hero of the occasion, for it looked as though she were going to announce varsity. Myra began by saying that in athletics came tthe supreme test of the ideals we strive after in college. The athletic field becomes a laboratory of conduct where sportsmanship, fair play, teamwork loyalty, honesty courage, and self-control is tested out and learned.
