Features a note of absence for the Florida State College for Women. There is also an Envelope, along with the letter that corresponds. Lastly, there is a clipping of a newspaper article.

The note of absence is for April 10, 1949 due to illness, and handwritten at the top is a note that it was during Field Day Events. The Envelope is addressed to Miss Laura Quayle, Infirmary. The newspaper clipping is titled "Evolution of a Senior" and states Freshie- "Please sir, I did not hear the question." Soph; "Didn't hear the question." Junior- "What?" Senior-"Huh?" Letter from a teacher to Laura. Addressed as April 1, 1919. States, "Dear Sweetie, Can't you find any other way to spend your time than being sick- you must hurry and come back down- we miss you. I am so happy, i hardly know whether I'm on this earth or not. Can you guess why? Well I just can't keep it I had the "darlingest" letter from Claude (my own sweet little boy) yesterday afternoon. He is going home Easter and wants a date Sunday PM. Now what do you know about that? Hace you gotten your permit to go home with me, you know we will leave next Fri. Think on it. hurry and get well, I want to see you already so soon."
