A word to students
The purpose of the Directors of the Residence Halls is to keep the social life of the household as free from rules and regulations as may be consistent with safety and good breeding.
Information for residents
Week Days:
6:30am- rising bell
7:15am- Breakfast bell
12:40pm- luncheon bell
6:00pm- Dinner bell
7:15pm- Study Bell
9:45pm- First light flash
10:00pm- Second light flash
10:05pm- Lights out- House closed
10:30pm- Lights out- House closed, Saturday.

Dining Room:
Dining room doors will be closed ten minutes after breakfast bell rings; and fifteen minutes after luncheon and dinner bell.
No table ware, i.e., dishes, silverware, or food, taken from dining room.
Attendance at breakfast is required except on Monday, Two absences are equivalent to one absence from class.
Guests:
All arrangements for guests must be made through the office in Bryan Hall.
Charges, $1.00 per day for guests staying in halls.
Meal tickets for guests, 25c.
Guests are expected to comply with regulations for lights and quiet.
Rooms:
Nothing should be driven in or posted on the walls or woodwork.
No pennants are allowed on the walls.
No rooms or furniture exchanged without the consent of Bryan Hall office.
Men may not be taken to rooms except when arranged for at Bryan Hall Home Office

Illness:
All cases of illness, slight or otherwise, must be reported to the College Nurse, and patients must stay in the Infirmary when ill.
No meals served in rooms.
Infirmary hours are posted on door of infirmary.
Telephone:
The telephone in Bryan Hall office is for business and is private.
All telephone calls are posted before meals on Bulletin Board in Arcade.
The students' telephone in South second floor of Bryan Hall is in charge of Student Government and is a privilege that must not be abused.
Fire:
Fire drills are held, and students are required to attend and follow rules posted in rooms.
Cooking may be done only in the Kitchenettes.
No student is permitted to use candles, oil lamps, electric irons or any electric appliances in her room.
Laundry:
Laundry out Tuesday morning.
Laundry in Saturday afternoon.
Laundry must be received and delivered at back doors or dormitories.
Laundry room in Reynolds Hall is open to all students for a small fee.

Student Government Association
Members:
All students of the Florida State College for Women resident on the campus are members of the Student Government Association until they prove themselves incapable of self-government.
Duty of members:
It shall be the duty of every student to report any wrong conduct to some member of the Executive Committee.
The Student Executive Committee:
The Student Executive Committee is composed of eleven members elected by the resident students.
Brief Summary of Duties:
1. To uphold the social regulations of the college.
2. To preserve order and quiet in the house through the House Presidents and Proctors.
3. To promote honesty in academic work and examinations and general principles of honor in all social and business matters.
4. To study the social needs of the College and to present suggestions for improved regulations to the appropriate College Committees.
5. Members of the Student Executive Committee may act as chaperones in riding to and from town.
Advisory Council:
The Advisory Council is composed of four members of the Faculty appointed by the President of the College. The President is Chairman of the Council.
Duties:
The Council meets with the student Executive Comittee monthly and at any time when serious matters are to be considered. The Advisory Council must approve all nominations and all rulings of Student Executive Committee before they become affective.

General Regulations
House
Quiet:
There shall be quiet during the following hours: Study hours, 7:15 PM to 9:45 PM. From 10:05 PM to 6:30 AM. all students must be in their rooms and lights out. On Saturday evening lights are out at 10:30.
After lights are out quiet must be observed, and there must be no passing in the halls in less than one hour after last light flash.
The house shall be closed at 10:05; all who wish to enter later than that shall make arrangements in ADVANCE at Bryan Hall office.
The night matron will receive all residents coming in later than 10:05 and admit them to their Hall.
Exception:
Students returning after 10:05 PM from entertainments may have lights in their rooms and the privilege of passing in the halls for 15 minutes after their return. But the rule for quiet must be observed.
Permissions:
All permissions during study period shall be given by the House President.
Students in going from one hall to another during study period must have a written permit from the House President of the hall in which she resides.
Students are permitted to spend night out of rooms at discretion of House President.
Town
Hours:
Student leaving campus must register in Bryan Hall the hour upon leaving and the hour upon returning.
Students leaving College Grounds in the morning must return by 12:30.
Students leaving College Grounds in the afternoons must return by 5:00, according to the time of year.

Number of Visits to Town:
Students are granted one visit to town a week except by special permission from Bryan Hall office.
Saturday:
Students are not to go down town on Saturdays.
Gentlemen Friends:
Students are expected to recognize and speak to gentlemen friends, but not to carry on conversations or have treats with them when in town.
Picture Show:
Students may attend matinee one Monday in a month, time to be specified by Dean of College Home.
Students may attend picture Show one Saturday night in a month in parties of ten or less with Chaperone. These parties must be arranged by 3 PM Saturday. The parties may visit ice cream parlors while out, but must be back in Dormitories by 10:15 PM.
Privilege
Senior:
(a) Open study period
(b) To leave the campus in the day, during the time provided for, at the discretion of the student.
(c) To attend any matinee unchaperoned in groups of two or more.
(d) To attend theatres of other shows, chaperoned, with the consent of the Dean of the College Home.
(e) To have a gentleman caller once a week.
(f) To have six cuts from breakfast a semester.
(g) To chaperone under-classmen in riding to and from town.
(h) To act as chaperones for under-classmen at matinees.
